Based upon a mobile phone combined with Global Positioning System technology, this solution provides an unprecedented level of precision for locating Lone Workers.
How it works
- Each phone is equipped with a dedicated emergency alarm button which calls the monitoring centre.
- GPS coordinates are simultaneously transmitted.
- A voice channel is opened between the worker and the operator (handsfree with certain models of telephone handset).
- The centre operator can view the employee’s current location using detailed maps of the area on the computer, usually accurate to within 10-20 metres.
- The situation is monitored, recorded and continually assessed, with the centre taking appropriate action.
This system can be used on a stand alone PC or as part of a larger resource management system for the management and delivery of services, goods and tracking of the phone.
