The pressure pad can be placed beneath a cushion in a chair. An alarm is raised to the IntelliLink or the Carer Alert unit, which will activate and notify the Control Centre or the local carer, as soon as pressure is taken off the pressure pad, and indicates that the user is potentially at risk.
It is essential that the pressure pad is located correctly for optimum operation when the user is sitting in a chair. The pressure pad can be used in a number of operations from Telecare to Nurse Call. Any application where the pressure pad is to be used should be evaluated accordingly so as not to install it in an inappropriate location.
