A heroic six-year-old saved his mum’s life after a freak vacuuming accident.

Dylan Johnson leapt into action after mum Tracey fell down the stairs and ended up with a power cable wrapped around her neck.

The 37 year old who suffers from ataxia – a condition that affects the nervious system – was knocked unconscious by the fall. But Dylan not only removed the cord, he also used the emergency help button which Tracey has in the home to raise an alarm.

The schoolboy then phoned his gran to tell her whathad happened before getting his mum a glass of cold water to help soothe her sore throat. Yesterday, Tracey, of Alloa, Clackmannanshire, said

“He is my wee hero, if it wasn’t for my boy i wouldn’t be here.

He is fantastic. He really did a great job taking the wire off and calling everyone. I am really proud of him and grateful he was there. Dylan is a quiet, wee boy without any confidence really, and it is the first time he has done anything like that.

He obviously heard me coming down the stairs, to do what he did was outstanding. By the time i came round, Dylan has pushed the emergency button, phoned his gran and was uncoiling the wire.”

Yesterday, Dylan and his brother Aaron, fice, said they were pleased to have their mum out of hospital. But the pint sized hero, who attends Park Primary School in Alloa, played down his role by saying

“i was scared to see my mummy like that and that was why i helped her. I am happy to have helped her and have her back.”
