Chubb Launch New Temperature Extremes Sensor
Published 30th November 2010
The Chubb Temperature Extremes Sensor is a battery powered, microprocessor controlled temperature sensor housed in a simple enclosure. The two vented sides allow it to easily monitor the air temperature of its surroundings.
The sensor is capable of monitoring 3 different temperature based alarm conditions each with a choice of settings
- Low temperature- the unit raises an alarm once the ambient temperature remains below the selected threshold for period of at least 20 minutes. Current settings available are 2ºC, 4ºC, 8ºC, 10ºC, 12ºC, 14ºC, 16ºC
- High temperature- the unit raises an alarm once the ambient temperature remains above the selected threshold for a period of at least 10 minutes. Current settings available are 32ºC, 34ºC, 36ºC, 38ºC, 40ºC, 42ºC
- Temperature Rate of Rise- the unit will generate an alarm if either an average rise in temperature of 1ºC per minute for 30 minutes or 3ºC per minute for 5 minutes is determined to have occurred.
Once an condition is recognised it will send an alarm to the IntelliLink carephone, Chubb carer alert or Concept Plus RS warden call system..
The temperature settings can be easily configured by staff on site to suit the individual service user needs. The installer can fit and choose the most appropriate temperature settings including turning off any of the
Back
alarms if not required. All this without the need to stock a range of different parts.
